About Us
About Us - About Us

Joanie and her husband, Art first visited the Hawaiian Islands together in the 1980's on their anniversary.  They fell in love with the warm tropical air, the people's aloha spirit, the turquoise/blue waters and the fragrant flowers.  Every few years, they would return to enjoy a vacation in Hawaii and grew to love it more with each visit.  When their children, Jesse and Jenny were old enough, they would make Hawaii their yearly vacation spot and share the memories with the kids.  But, each time leaving the islands became harder.  As Joanie says, "I felt so close to Hawaii as if it were already home to me.  I got misty-eyed each time we left."

From the Mainland to the Islands...

In 2003, they bought a vacation home on the Big Island which also became a vacation rental.  They would come to visit and check it out and make upgrades about 3 times per year. Joanie's husband had retired as a Fire Captain on the Templeton Fire Department and was working part-time as a Paramedic and Nurse. Jesse and Jenny were now grown and working as paramedics and starting their own families, so in 2005 the kids said, "it's time - go ahead and do it while you can" and so with the family's blessings, Joanie and Art decided to make the big move!

Now, living on the Big Island in the Puna District has brought a new adventure in their lives.  Art surfs the waves at Pohoiki each morning and Joanie loves to snorkel and swim with the green sea turtles at Champagne Pond in Kapoho, or you might find them kayaking the beautiful clear bay in Hilo.  Hiking the volcano craters and lava fields gives them plenty of exercise and a chance to view the numerous indigenous plants on the island.  Joanie loves waking up every morning to the songs of the birds and the brilliant green forests surrounding them.  In the evening she sits on her lanai listening to Art playing his new ukulele.

Joanie loves to share the aloha spirit with her friends too, so when time out of her busy schedule permits, she spends time with her clients and friends sharing puu-puu's, telling stories and singing and laughing.

"This is what really makes living in Hawaii worthwhile,
when you can share it with others," she says.

Joanie's spirit of adventure and determination to make things happen flows over into her profession.  Helping folks, like themselves, who want to find their next adventure in life, is Joanie's goal.  Joanie always makes her clients feel at ease in getting the job done right.

So, if you feel the time is right, remember life is short, why wait? Start living your next adventure and let Joanie help you.
